Berkshire Camino LLC Covid-19 Policy

The safety and health of our staff and guests is of the utmost importance. At Berkshire Camino LLC we are operating with a stringent policy in place to build confidence and trust in our organization. By nature of being a small group tour business we are creating a way for people to connect in-person and that needs to be done in a way that protects everyone’s health and minimizes the possibility of being exposed to Covid-19.

The policy is informed by mandates from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and others are based on common sense, guidance from local boards of health and chambers of commerce and tourism industry trends. We’ve taken a close look at what other hiking tour companies are doing and aim to be in alignment with them.

Here are the details of Berkshire Camino LLC’s COVID-19 policy;

  • First and foremost, any guest or crew member that is feeling sick, has one or more members of their household who have tested positive for Covid-19 within the past 5 days or suspects that they have recently been exposed to COVID-19 and/or are awaiting test results, will be excused with no fault from the tour. Guests may request a refund for the tour fee. Employees are expected to call out sick and not report to work.

  • We strongly encourage, but do not require or enforce, vaccination of guests and crew since the activity that we provide occurs entirely outdoors, with the exception of riding in the Berkshire Camino van on multi-day journeys. Unvaccinated individuals, those with compromised immune systems or anyone who prefers to take extra precautions are welcome to wear face coverings and to maintain social distancing from others in the group. Please refrain from asking guests and crew during the tour about their vaccination status. The intention is to create a safe and non-threatening space. We kindly ask that guests who are concerned about the vaccination status of other multi-day guests and crew be raised with management in advance of the tour in order that we can best accommodate you. You can reach us at 413-327-4312 during the business hours posted on our website.

  • Berkshire Camino operates our own eight-passenger shuttle van for multi-day journeys. Touch-points on the shuttle van are cleaned with disinfectant before every tour. Masks will be available for any guests or crew members who wish to wear a mask.  Guests may bring their own face mask. Weather permitting, the van driver will open the windows of the vehicle to encourage an exchange of fresh air for the duration of the short trip which in most cases is less than ten minutes. As an added measure, hand sanitizer available to use before boarding and after exiting the transit van.

  • After visiting public spaces that we may rest at while on the tour, guests and employees are encouraged to wash their hands or use hand sanitizer.

Berkshire Camino LLC’s Covid-19 policy is based on Parks and Open Spaces Guidelines issued by an Executive Order by the Governor's Office in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. We reserve the right to update this policy without advanced notice. It is possible that the policy in effect at the time of the tour is different from what it was when you booked the tour as Covid is a fluid situation.

We thank our guests and crew members for compliance with these high standards as they are intended to keep us all as safe as possible with minimal inconvenience. Please reach out to info@berkshirecamino.com with any comments, questions or needs related to the Covid-19 policy or anything else related to the health and safety of our operation.
