Day Hike Cancellation Policy - updated January 1, 2024

Payment is processed at the time of registration to hold your spot on the tour. Read below for details about how we address your needs in the event that despite the best of intentions you might need to cancel your registration.

Payment

Payment is due at time of booking for private day hikes. Listed prices are per person per tour.

If you need to cancel your day hike for any reason, requests may be made by writing to info@berkshirecamino.com or by texting 413-327-4312. Requests received 72 hours or more prior to the start time of the tour will be provided with a credit to a gift card that may be used at a future date. Gift cards are only for use with Berkshire Camino and expire one year from issue date. In the event that you are unable to utilize a gift card, a full refund may be requested.

Credits and refunds are not issued for no-shows or guests who request a cancellation less than 72 hours/3 days prior to the tour start time.

Transfer of Registration

In the event a registered guest is unexpectedly unable to participate in a tour, they may request that their reservation be transferred to another guest only for the exact same tour. Berkshire Camino LLC will honor substitution requests received in writing at least 24 hours in advance of the tour departure. Please reference your tour date, confirmation number and the name and contact information for the substitute guest. The substitute guest will be required to sign a liability and media usage waiver.

Weather Factors

The experience that we deliver is inspired by walking the Camino de Santiago in Spain and other long-distance hikes wherein weather is a constantly changing reality that is taken with grace and acceptance. We cannot control or always anticipate the often-unexpected changes in weather in the Berkshire region. In that spirit we only cancel tours in the event of a significant threat of steady rain, thunder, lightning, or icy conditions in the early Spring or Fall.

Other Reasons for Cancellation

On occasion, conditions beyond the control of Berkshire Camino LLC may necessitate changes, modifications, or alterations to the trip itinerary. In the event of unanticipated trail closures, area closures, policies or decisions of land management agencies related to COVID-19 or any other reasons such as environmental conditions, weather, safety, or group abilities that affects the planned itinerary, it may be necessary to adjust the route, conclude a tour earlier than advertised, or cancel the tour before it commences. Should a tour be impacted in a way that negatively impacts the guest experience we will extend a credit for the value of the tour purchased toward a future tour. The credit will be issued in the form of a gift card to be used on a future Berkshire Camino tour.

Berkshire Camino LLC reserves the right to cancel tours for any reason, including health and safety concerns. In the event Berkshire Camino LLC exercises this right, the tour fee will be refunded in full.
